Get involved
What if an entire industry helped make this possible?
The Last Laser Initiative brings together the industry that has treated Port-Wine Stains for decades to help fund the research that could one day make those treatments unnecessary.
The idea is simple.
As an awareness initiative, participating organisations donate a small proportion of their laser-treatment revenue to support research into gene editing for PWS and SWS. There is no set month — any clinic can run its own campaign at any time of year. A clinic might contribute 1% of laser-treatment revenue. Another might contribute €1 from every laser procedure. A manufacturer might make an annual corporate contribution. A company might match employee or customer donations.
There is no requirement that every organisation participates in exactly the same way. Every participating organisation becomes part of The Last Laser Initiative and can display the initiative badge to show its support.
One clinic's contribution may be small. Across an industry, it could fund an entire programme of research.
